Slack integration

Slack is where most engineering teams already coordinate. SIMRelay integrates via OAuth, posts incoming SMS into the channels you select, and supports per-number routing.

Setup

From the SIMRelay dashboard, click "Connect Slack." OAuth takes you through the standard Slack consent flow. Once connected, you pick which channels SIMRelay can post to and map each hosted number to one or more of those channels. The whole process is under five minutes for a single workspace.

Channel routing

Each hosted number routes independently. A typical setup:

  • Production 2FA → #ops-2fa (private channel, admins only)
  • Dev signups → #dev-codes (engineering team)
  • Shared business inbox → #shared-inbox (open to the company)

Message format

Each SMS becomes a Slack message with the sender, body, SIMRelay number, and timestamp. Links to the full message in SIMRelay (with the audit trail) are included. You can react / thread / forward inside Slack like any other message.

Multiple workspaces

If your organization runs more than one Slack workspace, you can connect each one independently. Per-number routing then includes the workspace as part of the destination.

Removing the integration

One click in the dashboard, or revoke from Slack's app management. Either way, SIMRelay stops posting immediately and the OAuth token is destroyed on both sides.
